Key Stage 4

In years 10 and 11 there are lots of options to study sport.

All pupils will have 3 hours of core PE

Then there are the following options

BTEC level 2

Pupil follow the BTEC level 2 first award in Sport.

There are 4 units of study over 2 years

GCSE PE

Pupils follow the edexcel exam board for GCSE

Pupils are assessed in 4 sports – these could be football, netball, rugby, cricket, basketball, trampolining, climbing or any sport you do outside of school well. This is externally assessed by a moderator.

Pupils also study 2 units

This is assessed on a 1:30hour exam paper.

Sports leader

The Level 2 Award in Sports Leadership will give learners the chance to develop their organisation, motivation and communication skills, whilst also focusing on positive role models in sport, how to mentor others, and how to use leadership skills in a variety of settings.

Pupils will be assessed on their team work, organisation, planning and leadership skills. This will include 10 hours demonstration of leadership.
