Year 9

In Year 9 students will continue to develop their skills in reading, speaking and listening and writing. Students will begin the year studying ‘Conflict- the experience of war’.  Students will be exposed to a range of texts linked to this theme including poetry, prose and film.  Throughout the year, students will cover a range of texts linked to the Key Stage 4 such as Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and Willy Russell’s contemporary play ‘Blood Brothers’.  This will support their knowledge and understanding of the texts in preparation for the GCSE examinations.
