So Good It Was Wicked

So Good It Was Wicked

It was so good it was really wicked!

Our special production of the hit stage musical Wicked was part of St Mary's 2015 Dance Festival held annually at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton.

The prequel to the Wizard of Oz, it tells the story of Elphaba and Glinda, the Wicked Witch and the Good Witch in the Wonderful Land of Oz...and of what happened long before Dorothy arrived there.

It would be no exaggeration to say that yet again, this was our best production ever! The programme featured students from all year groups, the youngest of whom have only been in St Mary's for a few weeks. It was an astounding achievement.

Principal dancers were Lily Burke, Annie Corke, Amy Lilliot, Alfred Mupakasa, Russell Nokes, Samantha Davies, Leah McNay,Erin-Rose Sanderson and Amy Catherall, all of whom were crowned national champions in the U DO IT Schools Dance Championships in Blackpool this summer.

As if our thrilling journey along the Yellow Brick Road through Oz were not enough, the second half of our Dance Festival showcased the many talents of St Mary's students, as well as a special performance from students of SS Peter & Paul Primary School, New Brighton.

Visiting companies Move It and Dynamix also contributed some stunning performances.

But now let the pictures tell their own story...
