Dear Parent / Carer
Year 9 Pathway to Success Evening
As you will be aware, your child is about to make some very important choices about the courses they will study in Years 10 and 11. In order for both you and your child to be fully informed about the choices available and their current strengths and areas for development, we would like to invite you to our Pathways Evening on Thursday 28th January 2016.
The evening will take place from 6.00pm to 8.30pm. We are proud of the breadth of courses available to our students as they enter Year 10 and this is an important opportunity for you to find out about the choices available to your child and help them to make these important decisions.
There will be two sittings for an information talk – explaining our Year 10 curriculum, the changes to the grading in the new GCSEs and what should inform the options a student chooses. These will take place at 6.00pm and 6.45pm. In order to ensure parents and students are comfortably accommodated in the theatre you will be invited to one of the two sessions.
6.00pm, 9PFE, 9TRE, 9ESA, 9JGO
6.45pm, 9EDA, 9CMH, 9PSC, 9DCA, 9VTA
Throughout the evening teachers of all of our Key Stage 4 courses will be based around the College, to explain their courses and answer any questions you may have. This is important both in subjects new to the students and those they already study and we would encourage them to consider all the opportunities available carefully before making their decisions.
We hope that you are able to join us for this evening and that you will find it informative and helpful in helping your child to make the right choices for the next stage of their education.
